She is so beautiful… just look at those eyes….

They really couldn’t stop kissing her……this home was just filled with so much love and joy,… and peace too as long as we kept this sweet baby girl snuggled and swaddled!  

It was such a gorgeous day, so warm with the most perfect breeze, I could have hung out all afternoon with this amazing family! Thanks for having me!!!

I love photographing people, especially my own people…my family. That’s where it all started. Although I did start learning photography and really enjoyed it before we started our family, when I had my own little ones it was a whole different world. I loved capturing this precious time. Capturing our story. I am so passionate about it, that photographs are so important, no matter who takes them. And I think printing those images for displaying on walls and in albums to enjoy is also so important. My walls are full of pictures, and my kids still pull out the scrapbooks and see their “stories”.

I know every photographer probably feels this way. It’s gushy and corny,… but it’s what is in my heart. That I have, and you have beautiful photographs of you loving your family, of this precious season of life wherever you are. Life is such a gift. I think photography has such a unique way of celebrating this precious gift. And it is important. That you not only have pictures of yourselves with your family, but that YOU make pictures of your stories too. All the time. And print them. You don’t have to have the big expensive camera, and the pictures you print don’t have to be perfect,  they just need to make your heart happy.

But if you do have that big fancy camera,…. use it!

I believe there are so many of you out there (because I get lots of emails and questions) that may be intimidated by your cameras. You may have bought a DSLR camera and were disappointed it just didn’t take great pictures out of the box. The secret is….. it doesn’t make the pictures, you do. And it’s not as hard or scary as you think.

There are so many amazing resources out there! I recommend reading Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. It’s brilliant. And online resources, there just so many great ones!  I love photography which is a great community of  photographers and more resources. I have heard Clickin Moms is another amazing place.

And for those of you who are more “hands on” in learning, we have decided to do another, more in-depth workshop!! I am soooo beyond excited to meet some of you, and to show you how to take control of your images, to empower and encourage you to shoot more, to learn to use your camera.  Because once you learn it,… it’s a skill you will always have that will benefit your entire family!!

Our Workshop will be held at the beautiful Hidden Oaks Wedding Venue in Rancho Cucamonga on June 2nd from 9am to 2pm. We will start with the basics and work within small groups showing you how to take complete control of your images shooting in manual mode and getting your pictures right in camera. I will be working with the wonderfully talented photographers Tara Sos and Megan Siana. Aren’t they just the most precious little girls?? They are such sweet sisters, I love the way the littlest would light up when her big sister was around and would run to her, and how gentle and sweet her older sister was with her. Soooo precious!!

She loves art and pink and purple and is super smart and such a sweetheart. At the end of our session she even ran to hug me, I have a feeling she has a gift of making everyone feel loved and special. 

She could ask for anything with that look…so gorgeous!!

I loved catching up and hanging out on this perfect day in Claremont! Thanks so much!!!

And just for fun, even though I did love the above shot, I wanted her veil fluffed out a bit like this one below….so you can see below the fancy we way we did that…

And in case you were wondering, to get these little lights to look like hearts, simply cut a small heart out of a piece of dark paper, hold it over your lens and the out of focus lights will look like hearts. Try it!    (remember they must be out of focus lights)

We ended our perfect session with a few sprinkles (super happy it didn’t pour!!)…it was actually magical and I love that you can see them from the flash that was triggered behind them for some pretty back-light.

There are no words that could do justice to describe the beauty of a brand new baby and the love the family has for him….It really is breathtaking and truly beyond words.

Babies melt me….

It is so amazing that I get invited to capture little miracles like this precious guy!! Thank you so much to all my clients who trust me to photograph some of the happiest moments they share with their families!

I was so excited (and nervous) when she asked me to photograph her adorable family a few months back. Even though we have been friends for quite awhile and often shoot together, there is just something about photographing a photographer. But she made it so easy just enjoying this most perfect golden evening with her lovely family.

My absolute favorite thing, is that she has her images printed up all over her house. That’s where I think pictures belong, professional or not. On your walls  or in an album for you to enjoy!!

I am sooooo SUPER excited about another upcoming workshop that Megan, Tara and I are busy working on! It’s a basic photography workshop learning to shoot in manual mode and natural light both indoors and out. We are working on setting dates and details (and a special special most awesome location that I can’t tell you just yet!). We will post details in the next few weeks!

I was so excited to meet this super happy super in-love couple on this perfect day in Laguna. Their favorite place is Hawaii where he proposed,….in a helicopter! Don’t you just love him now too?  Although this isn’t Hawaii, it’s definitely one of the most beautiful beaches I know of.  Another beautiful beach is where they are getting married in July in  Rancho Palos Verdes. 

They told me how much fun they have together wherever they are and whatever they are doing, pulling everyone they meet into their funny banter. So true. They really are the  happiest most beautiful couple that I would guess everyone would want to be around. They both have that infectious laugh and smile, they are so joyful and so happy and so in love…..and I am so excited for their wedding!!  (Is that too many “so’s” I am clearly not a writer!)

Isn’t she gorgeous?  Both inside and out, she couldn’t fake a smile if she tried!

I adore them….. and have I mentioned I can’t wait for their wedding??

I really don’t have the words to describe just how awesome and amazing this couple is, or how much fun Tara and I had shooting their engagement session. Mary and Dave just have that something special together, that is so unique and beautiful and just perfect. I am completely honored to have been invited to photograph them on one of the most happiest days when they say “I Do”.  Thanks so much Dave and Mary!

I was so happy to meet up with them to not only photograph their awesome family but also some special images for their oldest beautiful daughter who is graduating 8th grade this year! Congratulations!!!

so gorgeous, I love these siblings!! They are so awesome ! 

And that this gorgeous girl insisted we not only shoot at their home, but here, right around the corner from us both. Who knew? Isn’t it perfect?? It was such a great evening, with such a great family!!! It was wonderful seeing you all again!!!

I couldn’t be happier for this adorable family. Getting ready to welcome a new baby boy,…it’s such an exciting time!!!

Words just can’t express the amount of joy, anticipation, pure happiness and excitement knowing they get to finally meet this precious little guy soon!!
